Taum's Hip and Back class:

Pain relief may be easier than you thought.

Live and soon online.

Taum who?

Taum began his 40+ year journey within Corrective Massage shortly after moving to Squaw Valley in 1976. The foundation of his work began in 1979 with his apprenticeship with Lauren Berry, RPT and Structural Engineer. This path has seen him invited to work with the US Ski team, the SF 49ers, professional runners, and cyclists.

For any and all ages, the focus is returning to pain-free living.

Taum's approach recognizes that the body is innately programmed to self-heal naturally when soft tissue relationships are balanced. His goal is to reduce the imbalances that interfere with that uniquely amazing ability.

LEARN MORE

You know this is important.
Your lower back feels heavy...
Your hip pain won't let you sleep...
Getting up from the chair is getting harder...
You know you should do something...

How about investing in your knowledge, educating yourself, and create your own 'Learned Response.'

Much as our cell phones and computers incorporate a core operating system to manage all our apps, our bodies' core operating system continually synchronizes an amazing variety of behind-the-scenes 'apps' to maintain our health and ease.

These 'apps' include camera eyes, radio ears, valves, tubes, pulleys, hinges, arches, temperature control, chemical laboratories, a telegraphic nervous system, a structural frame, storage space, a variety of pumps, pipelines, synchronized recycling, sewage disposal, and a constant self-repair system.

All are synchronized and orchestrated within our body's core operating system. Each of these 'apps' supports our ability to live in balance with our environment.

The medical term is 'Homeostasis.'

Each has an alert programmed to focus attention and offer an opportunity to respond.

Digestion and body temperature serve as good examples.

Digestion Alerts:

  • Reconsider diet.
  • Add probiotics or digestive bitters to our nutritional rituals.

Body Temperature Alerts:

  • Shivering? Add a layer of clothing.
  • Sweating? Take off a layer.

Our responses to these alerts are part of our life-learning experiences.

Pain Alerts in our Hips and Lower Back:

  • It's time to learn a response.
  • It's relatively simple.
  • Muscles can become 'stuck.'
  • Stuck muscles create tension and pain.
  • This class is about un-sticking the ones that cause hip and back pain.

The primary intention of this class is to teach you incredibly efficient and effective self-help remedial techniques for responding to hip and back pain.

Combining knowledge, understanding, and 'movement with intention' can unlock and revitalize our self-healing ability.

This class is for everyone interested in understanding and taking an active role in their relationship with back and hip pain.

This class can serve you for the rest of your life.

Bodyworkers

Fellow Bodyworker, this class has been approved by the NCBTMB under the 'Self Care' category for 1 CE as:

'Self-care for decompressing Lower Back and Hips.'

You can expect to gather unique insights and efficient techniques to apply in your practice.

This class is for those seeking knowledge and practical techniques to reduce tension and pain in the lower back and especially the hips.

The how, when, and why of corrective massage and remedial movements to ease hip and lower back stress is the primary focus of this 90-minute workshop guided by Taum Sayers.

From teaching at the Edgar Cayce school in Virginia Beach to being invited to work on the US Ski Team and 49ers, Truckee Bodyworker and instructor Taum brings 40+ years of experience to share in this class.

Consider...

Our body is continuously managing its state of balance. The medical term for this is 'Homeostasis' from the Greek words for "same" and "steady." Physical balance is an important component influencing Homeostasis and is active whenever we are upright.

When your lower back and hips are talking, one way to interpret the message is your muscular system is out of balance. Much like tires wearing un-even when our car's front end is out of balance, our body starts adapting, and stressful imbalance lights up the conversation.

This class includes:
A bit of anatomy and physiology, so you can understand what you are doing. These are the things I wish our early physical education classes included. Such as 'What is pain trying to tell me?'

  • A bit about repetitive muscular influences that affect our daily lives.
  • Visual guides that aid you in 'seeing' what is under your skin.
  • Guided self-help remedial movements for sprinkling across your day so that whenever your hips or lower back start talking, you can join the conversation with knowledge and remedial therapeutic techniques. (Most consume less than 20 seconds.)

Participants can expect Taum to demonstrate the optimum pressure and direction (The Feel) for each and every movement on each and every participant. Be sure to let him know of painful areas so he can avoid increasing your pain... this is all about reducing pain, not increasing.

Medical disclaimer:

The self-help class includes applying to themselves and receiving corrective massage pressure and practicing remedial movement techniques.

Participants can expect the class to include Taum demonstrating the pressure and direction (The 'Feel') for each corrective massage and remedial movement on every participant.

Be sure to inform Taum of your painful areas before he demonstrates so he can avoid increasing your pain.

This class is all about reducing pain, not increasing it.
